The Dominican Republic puts no restrictions on foreign ownership — you take full fee-simple title to your Puerto Marina residence in your own name, or through an LLC or trust, with the same legal standing as a Dominican national. No residency, citizenship, or special permit is needed to buy or, later, to sell.
Is Puerto Marina a CONFOTUR-approved project, and what does that save me?+
It is. CONFOTUR is the Dominican Republic's tourism-investment incentive, and Puerto Marina qualifies — so buyers are exempt from the 3% property-transfer tax at closing and pay no annual property tax for fifteen years. Across a typical hold, that exemption adds materially to your net return.
